Michael D. McGrew has spent more than three decades representing clients in complex civil litigation. Mr. McGrew’s practice has focused primarily on representing individuals and businesses in insurance bad faith and breach of contract matters. Mr. McGrew also has extensive experience litigating catastrophic injury and wrongful death matters, products liability cases, nursing home negligence claims, and other complex litigation.

Mr. McGrew has earned Martindale-Hubbell’s AV Preeminent® rating, its highest peer rating for professional excellence. The rating reflects recognition by fellow members of the legal profession for legal ability and ethical standards. Mr. McGrew is also a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates (ABOTA), an invitation-only national organization of experienced trial attorneys and judges. During his career, Mr. McGrew has tried more than 25 cases to verdict in state and federal courts throughout Oklahoma.

Over more than three decades of practice, Mr. McGrew has represented policyholders in a wide variety of insurance matters, including disputes arising from wind and hail, tornadoes, fires, water damage, and other significant property losses. His approach combines aggressive representation with meticulous preparation and a mastery of the subject matter at issue—from roofing and construction to insurance claim handling and policy interpretation.

Mr. McGrew earned both his undergraduate and law degrees from the University of Oklahoma. He received his Bachelor of Science in 1986 and his Juris Doctor from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 1989.

Mr. McGrew is married to Mary McGrew, who serves as the firm’s office manager. They have two children, Matthew McGrew and Kaitlin McGrew. Outside the office, Mr. McGrew enjoys fishing, running, and spending time at his ranch near Checotah, Oklahoma.

Matthew M. McGrew has devoted his entire legal career to representing individuals and businesses whose insurance claims have been wrongfully denied, delayed, or underpaid, with a practice focused primarily on insurance bad faith and breach of contract litigation.

​

Throughout his career, Mr. McGrew has represented hundreds of individual policyholders in property insurance cases involving some of the most significant losses a family or business can experience. His experience includes representing policyholders following major catastrophe events, including tornado losses, numerous hail and wind events throughout Oklahoma, fires, catastrophic water losses, theft and vandalism, and other significant property losses. Mr. McGrew also has extensive experience handling complex insurance coverage disputes. His work has involved issues ranging from the cause and extent of physical damage to questions involving vacancy exclusions, repeated or continuous seepage or leakage, matching and repairability, replacement cost and actual cash value, depreciation, and the proper interpretation and application of insurance policy provisions.

In addition to representing homeowners and individual policyholders, Mr. McGrew has represented numerous businesses and commercial property owners in insurance claims involving office buildings, shopping centers, apartment complexes, industrial and agricultural facilities, and other commercial properties. His commercial insurance practice has included matters involving eight-figure property losses arising from wind, hail, tornadoes, water, and copper theft, etc.

Mr. McGrew prides himself on his ability to master the details of a complex case, distill complicated or nuanced facts and technical issues into clear and understandable terms, and develop the evidence necessary to effectively advocate for his clients. He has extensive experience examining and cross-examining witnesses in complex litigation, including insurance adjusters and supervisors, corporate representatives, engineers, contractors, and other retained experts.

Mr. McGrew has been selected to the Thomson Reuters Super Lawyers® Rising Stars list, a distinction reserved for no more than 2.5% of attorneys in Oklahoma. Rising Stars recognizes attorneys who have attained a high degree of peer recognition and professional achievement in their practice area.

 

Mr. McGrew also places a high priority on being accessible and responsive to his clients and keeping them informed throughout the litigation process.

Mr. McGrew earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Oklahoma and his Juris Doctor from the Oklahoma City University School of Law, where he was selected as a recipient of the Emerging Leaders full-tuition scholarship.

Mr. McGrew is a lifelong resident of Edmond, Oklahoma. He has been married to his wife, Elizabeth, for over 12 years, and they have two sons, Brandon and Henry. Outside the office, Mr. McGrew is an avid outdoorsman and enjoys hunting and fishing.

Robin McGrew joined McGrew, McGrew & Associates in 2004 and has more than three decades of legal experience in both public service and private practice. Prior to joining the firm, Ms. McGrew practiced law in Ventura County, California, where she served as an Assistant County Counsel and as a Deputy District Attorney for Ventura County.

​

Ms. McGrew earned her undergraduate degree from Oklahoma State University and her Juris Doctor from the University of Colorado in 1988.

​

Outside the office, Ms. McGrew enjoys spending time with her daughters, Rebecca and Michaella.

Mary McGrew, Office Manager

​

Mary McGrew serves as the firm’s Office Manager and Legal Assistant and plays an integral role in the day-to-day operation of McGrew, McGrew & Associates. Mary works closely with the firm’s attorneys and clients and helps ensure that matters are handled efficiently and that clients receive the personal attention and responsiveness that are central to the firm’s practice.

Mary and Michael McGrew have been married for over 20 years. Outside the office, Mary enjoys singing, running, and spending time with her family.
